1.1.  Definition and meanings of Common Terms (I) “Technology”  Technology, which is derived from the Greek term, techne, “art, skill, the cunning of hand”, and (logic,) “-logia,” is the collection of tools, including machinery, modifications, arrangements, and procedures used by humans. Engineering is a discipline that seeks to study and design new technologies.  Technologies significantly affect human as well as other animal species’ ability to control and adapt to their natural environments. The term can either be applied generally or to specific areas- examples include construction technology, medical technology, Legal Technology and information technology. It is the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area. A manner of accomplishing a task especially using technical processes, methods, or knowledge.
